Mmmm Bark!
Gather supplies ~
2 bags semi-dark chocolate
1 & 1/2 bags white chocolate
Peppermint flavor
Peppermint candies
Crush candy!
(I know this hammer is not pretty but the candy is inside of a bag, so have at it!)
Pour 1 tsp of peppermint flavor and stir into chocolate chips.
I find 1/2 tsp. per 12 oz. bag of chocolate chips results in the best flavor & the most compliments!
Place chocolate chips in microwave, STIRRING EVERY 15 SECONDS!!!
This is very important, it prevents scorching of the chocolate!
(ok sometimes I let it go for 20 seconds :)
See how smooth it is & it smells so yummy.
Spread in a metal cake pan.
Place in the freezer till firm.
Should be firm to the touch, not frozen!
Repeat with white chocolate chips.
Since we are using only a bag and a half, use a little less peppermint flavor.
***Before placing in the freezer again, add broken up peppermint candies & candy dust. I press down a little on the larger pieces of candy, just enough so it stays in the chocolate.
Place in the freezer till firm to the touch.
** It should just be pulling away from the sides of the pan.
It actually comes out in one piece. I turn it over, leaning one end up on the side of the pan.
I get my knife ready and ...........
BARK!
♥ Place on a pretty plate and look how yummy it is and it smells so Christmasy!
where's the finished bark??
